One Way Security Tag Cable Ties

These Nylon 66 tag ties use a one-way locking action for applications where a closed tie should not be reopened and reused. Current variants list 6.9-inch, 12-inch, and 16-inch lengths; black, white, green, blue, pink, yellow, purple, and red colors; and packs of 50 or 100 pieces. They can support logistics identification, warehouse control, equipment marking, cable grouping, and package or bag closure.

Define the Security Requirement

A one-way tie can show that a closure has been cut or replaced, but it should not automatically be described as a certified high-security seal. Specify whether the project needs a simple non-reusable closure, unique numbering, a writable tag, logo, barcode, pull strength, temperature range, chemical resistance, or documented tamper-evidence performance. Choose a color and length that support the control procedure without creating confusion between locations or batches.

Apply and Record

Measure the closure path, select enough length for full engagement, and pull the tie only to the tension needed for the item. Excessive tightening can damage bags, cables, soft equipment, or tag areas. Record the color, location, date, responsible person, and any identifier required by the process. At inspection, replace ties showing cuts, partial locking, deformation, unexplained color changes, or missing records. Do not use these ties for lifting or personal safety.

Chain-of-Custody Procedure

Security depends on the process around the tie as well as the one-way lock. Control who receives unused ties, where each color is stored, who may apply or remove them, and how cut ties are documented. If unique numbering or serialized records are required, add that feature to the approved specification. During receiving, test representative ties from each length for full engagement and verify that pack labels and quantities match the control plan.

Handle Authorized Removal

Define the approved reason, person, tool, and record for cutting a tie before the program begins. The removed color, location, time, and replacement action should be recorded when chain of custody matters. Dispose of cut ties so they cannot be mistaken for unused stock. If a closure is found open without an authorized record, isolate the affected item and follow the buyer's exception procedure before applying a replacement.
