This 4-1/2 inch heavy-duty round dome cap is a pressed pre-galvanized steel cover for larger round fence posts, gate posts, terminal posts, bollards, and commercial perimeter projects. It sleeves over the post exterior to cover the open end, limit direct entry of rain and debris, and provide a finished rounded profile. Fit and finish should be approved against the actual post before a bulk release.

Product Specification

Measure the Post, Not Only the Name

Confirm the post outside diameter at more than one location and note seam, coating, weld, ovality, and damage that could affect a sleeve-over cap. A nominal 4-1/2 inch post description does not replace an actual measurement or approved sample. Define required internal clearance, engagement depth, and retention method. The cap should seat without being forced, splitting, rocking excessively, or trapping against an unexpected post feature.

Select the Required Surface System

The base reference is pre-galvanized steel. Hot Dip Galvanized and Powder Coated versions may be reviewed as project options, but each creates a different surface build, appearance, lead time, and fit allowance. State the required finish on the RFQ and approve a sample if caps must match posts or adjacent hardware. Cut edges, formed areas, and any field attachment should follow the accepted corrosion-protection procedure.

Installation and Use

Clean and deburr the post end before trial fitting. Confirm whether the approved design uses friction fit, adhesive, crimping, mechanical fastening, welding, or another retention method. Avoid uncontrolled hammering that can dent the dome or damage coating. This cap is a post-end cover; it is not a lifting point, structural connector, fall-protection anchor, or load-rated attachment.

Bulk Packing for Larger Caps

The 4-1/2 inch size and listed 0.33 kg unit weight affect carton quantity and handling. Specify pieces per inner pack, carton weight limit, separators, finish protection, pallet method, carton marks, and mixed-size rules. Dome surfaces should be protected from nesting pressure, abrasion, and impact. Confirm packed dimensions and gross weight before arranging freight or warehouse space.
