Match Post Outside Diameter

Use calipers or another suitable method to measure the post OD and check it around the circumference. Note coating thickness, seam, deformation, burrs, and any flare at the cut end. Specify desired engagement depth and clearance. A cap that is too tight can be damaged during installation, while an excessively loose cap may rock or require an unplanned retention method.

Choose and Document Retention
