1-3/8 and 1-1/2 Inch Galvanized Chain Link Brace Bands
These preformed galvanized chain link brace bands wrap around a round post or rail and bring two pierced ears together for a bolted connection. The current variants are 1-3/8 inch and 1-1/2 inch, while the product images also show handwritten 35 mm and 40 mm references. Select the band against the actual mating member and the intended fitting assembly, not from a visual estimate.

Nominal inch and metric labels may refer to different tube or pipe conventions. Request the current drawing for internal diameter, strip width, thickness, ear geometry, hole diameter, coating, and tolerance, then compare it with measured outside diameter and finish buildup.
Match the Band to the Actual Post or Rail
Use calipers or a suitable diameter tool at more than one point. Record seam, ovality, dents, corrosion, galvanizing, paint, and repair coatings. Existing chain link fences can contain posts or rails from several manufacturers and construction phases. Approve a sample on representative material before buying a large replacement lot, especially where a 35 mm and 40 mm label could be confused with a nominal pipe description.
Confirm the Complete Brace Connection
A brace band commonly works with a bolt and another fitting such as a rail end, but the exact connection must follow the project detail. Identify the terminal, corner, gate, or brace location; mating fitting; bolt diameter and length; nut and washer; orientation; and required quantity. The band should close correctly without excessive spreading, forced holes, or a gap that prevents the bolted ears from seating as designed.
Do Not Assign an Unverified Load Rating
Band thickness, steel grade, hole geometry, bolt, post wall, installation torque, and applied force all affect the connection. The product images and nominal size do not prove structural capacity. For wind bracing, tension systems, gates, security fencing, or regulated installations, the responsible designer should verify the complete assembly. Replace distorted, cracked, heavily corroded, or over-spread bands rather than reusing them without review.
Finish and Field Handling
Confirm whether the band is pre-galvanized, galvanized after forming, or supplied with an additional coating. Inspect the inside radius, cut edges, ears, and holes for required coverage. Avoid hammering or uncontrolled rebending that can damage the steel or finish. Define touch-up for field damage and keep dissimilar-metal contact in mind when the band, bolt, fitting, and post use different materials.
Carton Control and RFQ
Keep 1-3/8 and 1-1/2 inch bands in separate, clearly marked inner packs. State pieces per bag, bags per carton, bolt-kit scope, carton weight, labels, pallet plan, and spare percentage.
