Before choosing a sign size, stand where the intended reader will be. A visitor at a pedestrian gate has a different view from a driver approaching a site entrance. Record the message, viewing direction, available mounting area and surrounding visual clutter before preparing the artwork.
Separate Branding from Required Messages
Use a sign schedule to identify company branding, project identification, directional information and required warnings. Have the responsible site or safety team confirm regulated content and placement. OSHA 1926.200 is a primary reference for U.S. construction accident-prevention signs; buying an aluminum plate does not by itself satisfy those obligations.
Keep the principal message clear. Review text hierarchy, contrast and the complete proof at final size rather than judging only a reduced image in an email. If nighttime visibility matters, define that requirement and request a suitable quoted construction with supporting evidence. A standard printed sign should not be assumed reflective.
Choose the Physical Construction
The current EONE collection includes a 13 x 9 inch aluminum sample and custom-sign examples listed in 4 x 6, 6 x 10, 8 x 12 and 10 x 14 inch formats. Confirm orientation, final dimensions and plate specification on the approved proof. Custom size, material and finish requests can be reviewed for the project.
- Specify plate thickness, edge finish and corner treatment.
- Choose single- or double-sided printing according to the actual viewing directions.
- Define the print or film system and the relevant exposure requirements.
- Show holes, backing or other mounting details in the construction drawing.
Match the Real Mounting Surface
For open chain link, request a defined hole-and-tie or other approved attachment arrangement. Do not assume that a catalog image means holes and ties are included with every backing variant. Compare hole positions with the mesh and available attachment points before bulk approval.
Magnetic backing requires a suitable ferromagnetic substrate with enough contact area. It will not attach directly to aluminum or function as a substitute for a proper open-mesh mounting detail. Adhesive backing requires compatible surface preparation and service conditions. Test the proposed construction on the actual surface where possible.
For double-sided signs, verify which areas of the reverse remain visible after backing and hardware are applied. On gates, confirm operating clearance and keep required notices visible in the intended gate positions. Assess the added sign area as part of the supporting fence's loading review.
Coordinate the Package and Delivery
Sloping ground affects viewing height and access, but a rigid sign does not need to bend with the slope. Specify its mounting plane, orientation and support interface. Coordinate signs with the fence-panel schedule and separate the required mounting components in the quotation.
EONE can arrange door-to-door or site delivery under the agreed quote. Confirm receiving access, unloading arrangements and how different artwork versions are packed. Installation, crane service, duties and every mounting accessory are not automatically included. Identify the agreed scope before shipment.
Request a physical sample to review edges, print and attachment, then submit the sign schedule with approved wording, size, quantities, surface photographs and destination.
