Start with the product your customer will receive
A private-label edging range needs more than a logo on a carton. A garden retailer may need a compact consumer pack with clearly counted stakes, while a landscape distributor may need bundled project lengths and location labels. Decide the intended sales unit first, then develop the profile and packaging as one supply specification.
EONE accepts customer drawings for manufacturability review and supports OEM and private-label requests for metal garden borders and landscape edging. The starting range includes flat, roll-top, flexible, corrugated, attached-stake, tree-ring, and low-wall formats. Custom dimensions, material, finish, and connection requests are evaluated for the actual project; submitting a drawing does not guarantee that every design can be produced.
Make geometry unambiguous
Include a cross-section, overall dimensions, thickness, and the position of holes, tabs, folds, or stake features. State drawing units and distinguish nominal sales dimensions from production dimensions. For rings, show finished inside or outside diameter explicitly. For curved runs, provide the radius and the face from which it is measured.
- Identify mating parts and which item controls the fit.
- Show end treatments, corner pieces, overlaps, and visible joint requirements.
- Mark surfaces that must remain free of branding or visible fasteners.
- Define the intended grade relationship and any soil-retention function requiring separate design review.
- Specify how bundles, kits, and replacement sections will be identified.
Manufacturer products such as Colmet's attached-stake edging show that part presentation can change the buying and assembly experience. For an EONE program, approve the proposed kit contents independently instead of borrowing another manufacturer's connection assumptions.
Approve a sample that tests the important interfaces
Ask for a representative section with the proposed edge treatment, finish, and joint. A flat color coupon can help approve appearance but cannot demonstrate a connector fit. Where field assembly matters, review two mating pieces and the specified stake or connector. Record accepted dimensions and any revisions before bulk production.
Weathering finishes require a different appearance discussion from powder coating. SSAB's material guidance describes patina as exposure-dependent. Define whether delivery is in a natural or pre-weathered condition and recognize that later color can vary. Do not use a single photograph as a promise that every weathered surface will remain identical.
Control branding and packaging
EONE can coordinate branded packaging and related branding requirements for approved projects. Provide authorized logos, artwork files, color references, label placement, and language requirements. Confirm your right to use supplied artwork. Approve the packaging proof separately from the metal sample, including product code, profile size, finish, quantity, batch reference, and any agreed handling or assembly information.
Review protection for exposed edges and coated faces, accessory containment, carton quantities, and pallet identification. Retail and bulk project packs can have different costs and minimum quantities. Agree material, finish, MOQ, tooling, testing, packaging, and scheduling terms in the quotation rather than assuming they are included.
Make the second order reproducible
Retain the approved drawing revision, physical sample reference, material specification, finish target, kit contents, and packaging artwork as the reorder record. Review changes before substituting material or altering a connection. Request a sample for approval and send the drawings and intended order program to begin the manufacturing review.
