The insert is metal, even when the fence is composite
WPC fence topper inserts are decorative metal components used with wood-plastic composite or similar privacy-fence systems. WPC describes the host fence, not the material of the insert. EONE's current collection describes aluminum and steel options, with individual designs also offering weathering-steel requests for review.
A topper may replace an upper band of boards or form part of a designed height extension. Those are different configurations. Neither should be treated as a universal accessory that fits any fence channel, and an insert alone is not a complete fence system or a verified increase in structural capacity.
Choose a border that suits the fence
The EONE topper collection includes Fleur De Lis Scroll, Greek Key Border, and Tulip Bud Lattice. Scrollwork creates a different upper outline from a geometric repeat or a botanical lattice. Evaluate the complete run, not only an isolated decorative strip, because post widths and short closing bays affect the pattern rhythm.
Open metalwork admits light and reveals more of the background than solid composite boards. It can soften the visual boundary of a courtyard or distinguish a hospitality perimeter, but it does not provide solid-wall privacy. Review the views from both sides, particularly where the upper band sits at the eye level of a neighboring path or raised terrace.
The host system determines the fit
Channels, supporting rails, post grooves, caps, and retention details are part of the design. Fiberdeck's BOSTON installation instructions show decorative elements integrated through dedicated profiles and assembly details. This is a useful industry example, not a statement that EONE inserts fit BOSTON or any other proprietary system.
- Confirm the receiving channel section and usable engagement depth.
- Separate the visible decorative height from the total manufactured insert size.
- Identify how the insert is supported and retained against movement.
- Review existing posts and foundations before proposing additional height or wind area.
Compare the complete scope and material choice
Aluminum, coated steel, and weathering steel create different weight, finish, and drainage considerations. A brown appearance alone does not identify weathering steel. SSAB notes brownish runoff during early weathering, so review that choice carefully above light-colored composite boards or paving.

Our view is that decorative topper products should make fit and retention as easy to understand as pattern selection. A clear section drawing and an actual channel-fit sample are more useful than a general claim that an insert suits composite fencing.
