Draw both leaves in motion
The first drawing for an estate swing gate should not be only an elevation. Add a plan showing the hinge axes, leaf arcs, fully open positions, and nearby obstructions. Use it to assess EONE's Estate Swing Gates against the entrance that will actually be built.
Record clear opening width, required passage height, column dimensions, wall returns, and the intended center meeting line. Show where vehicles wait and turn. Confirm that parked cars, landscaping, delivery activity, and public walking routes will not occupy the intended movement area.
Check levels through the full swing
A driveway can appear flat at the closed gate line yet rise sharply behind it. Provide surveyed finished levels across the entire sweep of both leaves. Include drainage channels, paving crowns, and planned resurfacing so a drawing approved against unfinished ground does not become obsolete.
Do not assume an arched top solves a rising driveway or that rigid leaves can be raked onsite. The project team may need different leaf geometry, a revised gate position, changes to surrounding work, or another operating type. Have those options reviewed before committing to a decorative profile.
Verify the support and hinge arrangement
Photographs of masonry columns are not enough to establish their capacity. Provide available structural information, mounting surfaces, and the proposed hinge locations. Posts, columns, foundations, and connections need review for the gate and site conditions, including exposure. Have the responsible structural professional specify the support and connection details before fabrication.
- Identify the actual mounting substrate behind decorative cladding.
- Show hinge axis, adjustment access, and the approved connection detail.
- Coordinate meeting edges, stops, locks, and any approved hold-open arrangement.
- Identify cable or equipment routes before columns and paving are closed.
- Keep pedestrian access separate from the vehicle operating zone.
Choose an operator around the approved gate
For powered operation, give the operator installer the proposed leaf dimensions, finished mass, opening arrangement, and expected usage. Ask for model-specific confirmation and interface drawings rather than accepting a general electric-gate-compatible description.
The project safety review should address the complete installation, including moving leaves, fixed objects, protective devices, control positions, and emergency arrangements. Confirm the selected operator's listing, the required protective devices, and each supplier's scope with the system integrator; the complete installation still needs project-specific safety review.
Match appearance without hiding exclusions
Choose the arch or spear-top profile in relation to the columns and adjoining fence. Confirm the actual metal, finish preparation, color, and gloss with an approved sample. A finish match should not obscure differences in the construction or maintenance requirements of adjacent items.
Ask EONE to quote a defined package of leaves, posts where needed, hinges, latches or locks, and packing. Identify foundation work, electrical work, installation, and commissioning separately. Door-to-door or site delivery can be arranged under the written quote; crane service, unloading, duties, and every accessory are not automatically included.
