A balanced pair needs a controlled elevation
On an estate entrance, small differences between leaves can be highly visible. The arch, center meeting point, ornament placement, and relationship to the columns should therefore be approved as a complete pair. OEM and private-label projects can also include branded packaging and coordinated branding service. Begin by explaining whether the order is a single entrance, a repeat model for a distributor, or several related openings for a development. That distinction helps define which details should remain common and which need separate drawings.
Separate the decorative and functional requirements
Provide a dimensioned front elevation, rear view where details differ, swing plan, and mounting information. State which ornament is essential to the design and which elements may be revised during fabrication review. An ornamental iron-style reference does not define the metal grade or manufacturing method.
- Dimension the top profile, shoulder heights, leaf widths, and center relationship.
- Identify medallions, scrolls, pickets, and any custom crest by controlled artwork or drawings.
- Specify frame and infill materials, joints, surface preparation, and the desired finish.
- Provide hinge, stop, lock, and operator-interface drawings for the approved components.
- Record viewing direction, leaf identification, and any deliberately unequal proportions.
Ask EONE to review ornamental attachment, fabrication access, handling, and packing before accepting the design. Where automated vehicular use is planned, identify the applicable construction review and responsible professionals in the RFQ. Use ASTM F2200's scope to frame that review, and obtain the required project evidence before releasing the approved drawings for manufacture.
Approve the finish route as well as the color
A black sample alone does not explain the coating beneath it. For steel requests, define the proposed corrosion-protection route and any necessary surface preparation. The American Galvanizers Association emphasizes that a duplex coating needs appropriate preparation; specify such a system only if it is agreed and suitable for the project.
Agree whether approval requires a finish coupon, representative ornamental joint, sample detail, or assembled first article. Record the visual acceptance criteria and any requested checks of dimensions or interfaces. A small decorative sample cannot validate the complete leaf's support or powered operation.
Coordinate authorized branding
Supply approved logos, crests, or other artwork with confirmation of your right to use them. Decide whether branding belongs on a product plaque, packaging, documentation, or a combination. Its placement should not obstruct hardware, necessary identification, or safety information.
Review the brand proof at the actual intended size. Keep the approved artwork revision with the gate drawing and packaging layout. Record any exclusive design rights, ownership of new artwork, or territory arrangements in a separate written agreement before production.
Protect the pair and preserve the specification
Agree how shaped tops and projecting ornament will be protected in transit. Mark left and right leaves from a stated viewpoint, and connect hinge and lock cartons to the correct gate identifier. Record the approved bill of materials, coating specification, artwork, sample references, inspection scope, and crate marks for reorders.
