1.58 kg/m Black Bituminous Steel Y Post for Farm Fence
This steel Y post, also described as a star picket in some markets, uses a listed mass of 1.58 kg per meter with a black bituminous finish reference. Live length choices range from short 60 and 90 cm stakes to 180, 210, and 240 cm fence posts. It is intended for farm, field, livestock, temporary, garden, and wire-fence projects after spacing and installation conditions are confirmed.

Choose Length From Soil and Fence Height
Determine required exposed height and driven depth for soil type, terrain, post spacing, wire tension, corners, ends, gates, livestock pressure, and wind. Short 60 or 90 cm options may serve stakes or specialized low applications rather than ordinary full-height fence lines. Longer posts do not compensate for inadequate anchorage, bracing, or terminal assemblies.
Plan the Wire System
State wire type, strand count, mesh height, clip or tie, tension, intermediate spacing, strainer-post locations, gate openings, and changes in direction. Y posts commonly serve as intermediate supports; corner and terminal points may require dedicated braces or heavier structures. Confirm hole or lug pattern and clip compatibility from a sample or drawing before a bulk purchase.
Driving and Field Safety
Locate utilities and underground services before installation. Use an appropriate driver and personal protective equipment, and keep hands away from impact zones. Do not strike the post with an uncontrolled tool that can create flying fragments or deform the head. Check alignment and damage during driving. The post is not a lifting point, grounding electrode, or personal fall-protection anchor.
Bituminous Finish and Storage
Confirm coating composition, coverage, environmental requirements, acceptable handling marks, and repair method. Bituminous finish is not a universal corrosion guarantee; service depends on exposure, soil, damage, and maintenance. Store bundles on supports, manage sharp ends, and use secure banding. Verify bundle count and weight before unloading or mechanical handling.
Y Post RFQ
Provide selected lengths, quantities by length, fence type, soil and terrain context, wire/mesh, clip needs, coating, bundle marks, destination, and date. Eone Industry can coordinate samples, mixed-length packing, production, and door-to-door freight. Inspect length, mass reference, straightness, hole pattern, finish, bundle labels, and damage at receiving.
