Choose the function before the profile
Start by stating whether the purchase is an open boundary fence, a patio privacy screen, a deck-edge screen, or an architectural window screen. EONE's current aluminum collection spans these applications, but an item suitable for visual screening is not automatically suitable as a structural guard, pool barrier, or window-protection device.
Measure the opening and record the support surface, nearby doors, stairs, services, and maintenance access. For screens near windows, identify opening arcs and required emergency escape. For deck work, keep the decorative screen scope separate from the independently reviewed guard and deck structure.
Build the layout from real dimensions
The nominal 3000 by 1200 mm flat-top panel is a catalog size, not a post-setting instruction. Confirm overall panel dimensions, connection allowances, clear gaps, and post positions on the approved drawing. Use one stated unit system for fabrication and make any converted display dimensions secondary.
On sloping ground, show finished-grade changes and choose stepped bays or purpose-designed sloped assemblies. Raking is appropriate only for a system designed for it. Do not force a rigid aluminum panel out of square. Horizontal slat screens may need differently shaped frames or scheduled bay heights, while each slat remains installed according to its designed connection.
Review sightlines and support together
Use both elevation and section drawings to assess slat face width, spacing, depth, and viewing angle. A screen that filters a direct view may reveal more from an oblique position or from a higher neighboring window. Review a representative sample or mockup from the positions that matter, including seated and standing viewpoints.
- Have the responsible designer establish spans, support spacing, posts, foundations, and wind-related requirements.
- Define thermal-movement allowances, drainage, end caps, and removable access areas.
- Check material compatibility at steel brackets, masonry interfaces, and other adjoining construction.
- For matching gates, allow for operating clearance and specify the hinge and latch posts separately.
The Australian Aluminium Council's technical FAQs discuss aluminum's behavior in contact with other materials. Use that background to ask for a suitable interface detail; it is not a substitute for reviewing the actual exposure and assembly.
Confirm finish and any barrier requirements
Specify alloy and temper where required, complete profile dimensions, coating preparation, color, gloss, and acceptable repairs. Approve posts and panels against the same physical finish reference. If the project is a pool enclosure, use the CPSC guide as background and obtain local review of the complete fence and gate arrangement before purchase.
Coordinate the purchase and delivery
EONE can review custom lengths, screen dimensions, attachments, and a matched package of approved components. The bill of materials should distinguish included posts, caps, brackets, and hardware from items supplied locally. Door-to-door or site delivery can be arranged under the quotation, with destination access, appointments, unloading equipment, and package sizes confirmed beforehand.
Do not assume installation, a crane, duties, or all accessories are included. Long aluminum panels and slats need a receiving plan that avoids twisting or finish damage during handling. Compare the delivered labels, lengths, and finish against the approved schedule before installation.
Review the aluminum fence and screen range, arrange samples, and submit the measured layout with site photographs and delivery restrictions.
